How a commission works

From site
to standing

Site-specific works across Aotearoa, NZ. Developed for place, from material studies through fabrication to installation.

  1. 01

    Site

We stand in the place, read how people move through it, and let the site lead the design.

  2. 02

    Concept

Sketches and material studies put a direction forward. Nothing is fabricated until it is agreed.

  3. 03

    Fabrication

Stone is cut and worked, steel shaped and finished, elements trial-assembled in the studio.

  4. 04

    Installation

Ground works, craneage and fixings are planned so the piece lands safely and sits as intended.
